End of the week, though I'm not sure how. Sports played a key role: Upper Perk hoops on Monday night, volleyball Wednesday, East Penn hoops Thursday. Tuesday night was taxes. Other intervals were filled with similarly business-y calls. Tonight we put our new shirofugen cherry tree in the front yard -picking up an approving compliment from the all-important neighbors- then hit Cali and went to Home Depot to set up for a weekend of cleaning & staining the deck, hanging curtain rods, and making the final piece & assembling the other two for our new Saarinen table.

Word from the yoop today is that Congressman Stupak is retiring. I see that as sad news for the Michigan 1st District. I predict he set a record for being seen by the highest number of constituents of any modern official; the Rapid River Memorial Day parade has lost a mainstay and northern Michigan a staunch supporter. Enjoy whatever's next, sir.
