By my count this was Jenelle's third graduation (no graduations at UHS as that program started as fresh/soph only in her first year) and the first time she's been mentioned in the valedictory. It wasn't by name but one of her former students referenced an essay in junior AP English that challenged her to see the beauty in everyone at Allen. We went out for a still-in-fancy-clothes post-ceremony dinner at Grille 3501; panko-encrusted brie, sesame dumplings, the valley's best burger, and a martini rounded out an eventful day and evening for Jenelle.

Saturday morning we placed some stepping stones in the yard and sought some shade-loving grass advice, had ice cream at the top of the hill, and went to a graduation party of a young mid - Tyler - who's fired up to be heading to Annapolis and is more than deserving of the honor. We didn't get the start we wanted, but in the late afternoon we went for a hike at Bear Creek that lasted until darkness and bugs overcame us.

Today was mostly about packing. And breakfast at Blue Sky; we're hooked on Bethlehem and wondering, in a very un-serious way, why we live so far from the South Side. Then: laziness. When the temperature dipped I skated about 6 miles at Rodale, and we made some thai curry and ate on the deck with a well-matched Michigan riesling...bliss.
