I doubt that one day I'll regale my children with stories of the day I didn't skip work to watch the US-Algeria match. They won't want to hear about the computer problems that made me think the GameCast was over and we had lost. But it was still pretty exciting. In fact it nearly overshadowed the rest of the day, office cake, intensely steamy volleyball, Italian sausage and basil fettuccine and all. I say nearly because a midday email and brief phone call from Jenelle indicate some extremely weary Pennsylvanians are on the ground and have been warmly received by their German counterparts. Plus: despite 36 hours of travel she went to France for a hike to see wild orchids.
