I'm not doing awesome: Gram's on a boat in the middle of the Pacific (literally) and he's updating his blog more than me.

Camping in Maryland - and the frantic prep and cleanup - meant no internet this weekend. We pitched our tent in shade-covered Sassafras 264 at Elk Neck State Park at the very northern tip of the Chesapeake Bay. Doug & Johanna came up on Saturday and we all spent the weekend doing not a lot. We walked to the lighthouse, walked around a pond, sat on the beach, paddled the old canoe amongst an armada of powerboats, and, predictably, ate too much gourmet food. We talked travel and jobs and food and fire and laughed a lot. It was the holiday weekend we needed.

This week one evening was spent at a nearby park getting a rain barrel kit from our water utility. The local Coke bottler donated drums and the LCA put together kits for hose & drain fitting - we're now prepared to install the barrel and save an average of 300 gallons a month of water usage during watering season.

Tonight was first frisbee of the season. My legs felt like basketball ended in 1987, not three weeks ago, but it was still fun to play, make some catches & throws, and get some run.
