On our way home from Emmaus Theatre there were some wild fireflies lighting up the trees in along Sauerkraut Lane. They were thick in the creek bottoms and with intensity and frequency the likes of which we've never seen. The only comparison I can make is to Manningham's touchdown in the south endzone to beat Penn State on the last play of a night game: flashbulbs, if you please.
We were at Emmaus Theatre to see "Robin Hood," which was good but thoroughly exhausted the 'I'm Russell Crowe! Toss me a sword while I ride through battle!' meme. Still, Sunday night on the town to wrap up a Sunday that was mostly about steering clear of the rain. It chased us up to Tuscarora with Shannon & Ryan, who took a paddle around the lake and were great sports about the iffy weather. Then, just as we were putting the canoe back under the deck the rain poured down and provided the live-fire trial of the rain barrel that we needed to tune the system. Long story short, about 5 minutes of rain filled it to overflowing. Now rain is beating against the windows and it's perfect weather for ringing out the weekend.
