Being a professional is like playing a really bizarre grown-up version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. In that way it can be fulfilling to hear people you know on NPR or read about them in the Wall Street Journal, or find their company's ski gear in a store, as I have in the past week. It also means myriad emails, connections, and networks that - as with everything in life - need maintenance. I'm sure Calvin would have some lengthy insight for Hobbes on this topic.

I'm in GR on business this week, solo. Uneventful trip out thought apparently everybody else is traveling on business this week, too. Back to school must equal back on the road. Speaking of back to school: Jenelle's back to school effective tomorrow for year six(!).
