It's a particularly tedious week to be in West Michigan. Oh did MSU win on Saturday? Yes, Michigan is undoubtedly over-rated at everything and is mostly a school for nerds. Gee whiz I hadn't heard that it's been 1,067 days since MSU lost to Michigan in football or basketball...it sure is fun rehashing it at work though.

The weekend half-hinged around the game, actually. Friday wasn't much - an impromptu dinner with friends at a tex-mex place in the midst of distribution centers was a highlight - and then Saturday was equal parts game prep and turkey prep. The game and the bird were both done at the same time, though I was oddly un-thankful when we sat down to eat. (If Squanto had brought a couple of decent linebackers... now THAT would have been a harvest feast.)

Sunday was more memorable. We loaded up and went into the Poconos, braving the 'leaf peeping'* crowd to spend a day in historic Milford, browsing shops, eating lunch at the Waterwheel Cafe, and spending way more time than anticipated at Grey Towers, the ancestral home of the Pinchot family and now a National Historic Site.

*Calling color tours "leaf peeping" makes having fall be a favorite season just feel dirty.
