On the road again. The shock and awe of this weekend has given way to another week, another trip to Michigan, and another day closer to a Thanksgiving break that appears to be badly needed on all fronts. Things are getting downright scary in downtown Allentown: even gangs get weary of the long slog since Labor Day and are acting out. Though I'm anxious for the break and for our trip, I'm hesitant because it will bring a milestone (milestonic?) birthday, the end of college football regular season, and the onset of Christmas, forerunners of which have already appeared on streetlights and in hotel lobbies. Must Christmas be year-round like politics and baseball?
